Our Leaders

 

Jesus Christ is the head of His church (Ephesians 2:25).  In everything, we seek to follow Him.  In John 17, Jesus says that the message which He brought he passed on the his apostles, who in turn, would pass these things on to us.  Ephesians 4 outlines church leadership, saying that such leaders are gifts from Jesus to His church. 

In looking at these and other passages we understand that the church was built

on Jesus, by Jesus, and for Jesus.

 

 

God's design for a church is for it to have multiple shepherds (elders, overseers), but sometimes smaller congregations don't have that luxury.  In these situations, the Bible shows us to "be subject" to those men who have "dedicated themselves to the service of the saints" (I Corinthians 16:16).

 

In our congregation, Jon LaBaume, Danny Nutt, and Sammy Bradley are respected in this way and serve as some of our leaders.  Additionally, Levi Sisemore serves the City Park congregation as its evangelist.  Click on any one of their names to email them.
